Physical Therapy Employment

 

SUMMARY

The Physical Therapy Technician (Tech) is a non-licensed position who acts as a support staff member to the physical therapist, physical therapy assistant, and medical receptionist.  The Tech will complete an on-the-job training program and must demonstrated competencies in all assigned tasks. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

 

1. Assist with patient-related activities and treatments.  The treatments will be under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Assistant.
2. Assists with answering the phones and answering patient/doctor inquiries.
3. Perform designated routine tasks related to the operation of the clinic.
4. Follows established procedures pertaining to the care of equipment and supplies.
5. Prepares, maintains and cleans the department for daily operations.
6. Observes, records and reports to the therapist; conditions, reactions and responses related to his/her assigned patients.
7. Prepares and completes routine and assigned billing documentation timely.
8. Promotes the philosophy of the company and actively works to maximize patient rehab potential.
9. Holds in confidence patient records and statistics.
10. Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

1. Must Speak Arabic and English
2. High School Diploma or Equivalent
3. Related education/education working in a health care setting
4. Flexibility to adapt to changes in your work schedule
5. Professional and neat appearance
6. Ability to exercise good judgment and make appropriate decisions
7. Above average communication skills
8. Computer proficiency, preferably MS Word Programs; Medical Manager experience a plus
9. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
10. Ability to sit, walk and stand constantly during an eight (8) hour day
11. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
