Job Responsibilities for a Physical Therapist/PT
- The basic function of this position as a PT is to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities in the disease process and or recovery from injury. Promote overall fitness and health.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with client, family members, significant others, facility staff, volunteers, physician office staff, Archer Home Health, PER DIEM Medical Staffing, Traveling Nurses administrative staff, and other agency nursing personnel, supervisors, payroll, and staffing personnel.
- Client facilities of varied sizes and available equipment. Duties may vary depending upon client facility policy. May be exposed to communicable diseases and may be assigned to patients in isolation. Will have working knowledge of universal precautions. Can work independently with a consumer in the home setting for home health.
- Ability to participate and communicate effectively patients concerns to other medical staff, auxiliary personnel and family members.
- Ability to make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions without immediate supervision.
- Ability to effectively educate patients on appropriate exercises for improvement of their condition and proper use of equipment when necessary.
- Ability to utilize resources to assist patients in restoring function, improving mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities from their disease or injury.
- Maintains accurate clinical records and prepares reports.
- Practices cost effective use of equipment and supplies.
- Able to function independently in a home setting for home health.
Job opportunities include PRN, part-time, to full-time, with competitive pay rates. PER DIEM Medical Staffing/Traveling Nurses and Archer Home Health pay holiday pay on the 6 major holidays per year. Milage reimbursement and hotel accommodations for designated facilities.
Job Requirements
PER DIEM Medical Staffing/Traveling Nurses, and Archer Home Health require that all Physical Therapist, PT's, have the following qualifications to be an active member of our staff:
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program CPR/BLS upon hire and annual renewal and advanced certificate as require. Current license Client specific training Must have a valid Driver's License, current physical, PPD, and copy of immunization records.
ALL PHYSICAL THERAPIST must practice in accordance with the standard of physical therapy practice at all times. Must maintain all dated requirements, specialty certifications, and licensure as required by Per Diem Medical Staffing, Traveling Nurses, Archer Home Health and the facilities staffed in. Must be able to provide verifiable proof of all dated requirements, specialty certifications and licensure to Per Diem Medical Staffing, Traveling Nurses, Archer Home Health and the facilities staffed in.
