Job Description
- Coordinate treatments with medical staff.
- Plans,evaluates, and administers treatment.
- Discusses interdisciplinary treatments,and treatment plans on patent care.
- Educates patients and family in proper care,support and exercise.
- Explain treatment and precautions to take during treatment.
- Evaluates patients progress.
- Maintain patients records, charts, and discharge summaries.
- Assist other therapists in planning treatment programs.
- Recommend policies, and procedures concerning PT service providers.
- Performs other functions as required.
Job Requirements
- Successful completion of Bachelors Degree.
- License to practice in New Mexico.
- Implements physical therapy treatment programs as outlined by care plan established by a physical therapist to improve patient's body functions and relieve pain.
- Trains patient's ambulatory skills through strengthening and stretching exercises to improve their functional activity.
- Assists with instructing patients in the care and use of braces, wheelchairs, crutches, canes, walkers, prosthetic devices, bandages and otherassistive devices.
- Adapts treatment procedures to the patient's specific daily routine within the limits specified in treatment plan.
- Communicates and interacts with other team members and the patient's family and care givers.
- Provides documentation of patient's care in accordance with established criteria.
