Job Description
Our physical medicine department is staffed by PT, OT and speech-language professionals who are extensively involved in program development,professional education and outreach programs. Rotations include: inpatient cardiology, intensive care and total joint rehabilitation. Our four outpatient therapy departments include pediatrics (including 0-3 early intervention), orthopedics, lymphedema, women’s health and aquatic therapy. We have established affiliations with many colleges anduniversities. We bring in nationally-recognized speakers and sponsor several continuing education programs each year.The therapist will assess the rehabilitation needs of the patients through professional knowledge and skills in observation, interviewing, and comprehensive physical therapy assessment in an inpatient or outpatient setting. Establish and evaluate appropriate treatment plans; Identify appropriate treatment outcomes and duration of treatment, in conjunction with the physician; Implement the therapy plan; Manage a caseload and provide physical therapy services to homebound patients, as prescribed by the physician; Monitor the effect of therapy services on the patient/family health status; Make referrals and plans for discharge, as appropriate; Appraise services provided and the need for revision of goals and approaches to patient care. *cb
Job Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. Participates in educational programs on an ongoing basis and complete mandatory CELLS.Current license from the State of Illinois or in the process of acquiring licensure.
Experience: Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a caring, considerate and concerned manner. Ability to direct ancillary staff and organize work assignments. Leadership skills essential to the position. Must be skilled in a broad range of modalities with a clear understanding of indications and contraindicating of each. Familiar with the indications and use of equipment. Guides, teaches, and supervises students.
