Home care experience is desired. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to create positive impressions and communicate with a variety of people. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians and co-workers. Decision Making Skills: Knowledgeable on therapy best practices. Ability to make appropriate physical therapy judgments. Ability to identify a situation and handle it with the best possible solution. Detail-oriented and observant. Time Management Skills: Disciplined style of work ethic. Ability to prioritize and be timely. Health Requirements: Must be able to meet all physical position requirements. Evidence required of a current negative tuberculin skin test or x-ray or receive TB testing at the date of orientation. Thereafter an annual tuberculin skin test is required, unless the employee has documentation of a previous TB test. Employee must be free of physical/medical conditions, which would limit or restrict their ability to perform the job functions listed below. Bloodborne exposure risk is all.

Details: Physical Therapist / PT Physical Therapist / PT Job Description : The Physical Therapist (P.T.) is a qualified professional who directs, supervises, evaluates and provides physical therapy services to clients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician. Physical Therapist / PT Job Duties : Complies with ethical and professional standards of continuing education and conduct as set forth by the American Physical Therapy Association. Assists the physician in evaluating clients by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests and participates in the Physician’s Plan of Care. Develop, document, implement, and re-evaluate Plan of Care noting all treatment modalities and frequencies. Plans prescribed physical therapy training programs for clients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body parts. Instructs clients and their families in the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.). Makes arrangements for outpatient services which cannot be given at home. Reports to the Physician and Director of Clinical Services or Designee the client’s reaction to treatment and/or any changes in the client’s condition. Instructs other involved employees in the care of clients receiving physical therapy. Notifies office of schedule changes-cancelled/missed visits Attends appropriate case conferences and meetings that are scheduled. Plans for client’s discharge, and prepares discharge summary and instructions. Details: This position will cover the Tishomingo area. Summary of Essential Functions for the Position: A Registered Physical Therapist (PT) administers physical therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services/Branch Manager. Supervises Physical Therapy Assistant and Home Health Aide. Qualifications / Licensure / Certification / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 1. Currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing. 2. Two (2) years experience, preferred. 3. Acceptance of philosophy and goals of this Agency. 4. Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment. 5. Must have a current valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation. 6. Must be flexible, innovative and possess good interpersonal skills. 7.CPR certified with American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
