Our medical center Bowling Green KY is currently looking for a full time Physical Therapist. This position will greatly contribute to our commitment in bringing optimal healthcare to our community.
The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic intervention, education, and recommendations to acute care patients. The clinician will organize and implement physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, surgery or illness. This position requires proficiency in acute care. Responsibilities also include maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice, while providing the highest quality healthcare that is patient oriented, advanced in technology, cost effective and with care and compassion.
Under the direction of the Director of Rehab Services, evaluates plans, administers and supervises medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to patients in the acute and outpatient setting. Case Mix includes outpatient orthopedics, neuro, pain and pediatrics. Acute care evaluation and treatment. M-F schedule with participation in weekend on call rotation for evaluations.
1. Completes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice
2. Plans and provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice
3. Completes all documentation of services per department standards
4. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards.
5. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens
6. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
7. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intradepartmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives
8. Maintains updated license and submits evidence of status to supervisor/manager within two weeks of receipt of new or updated license
Job Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from and accredited program in Physical Therapy.
· Current Kentucky licensure.
· American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS; new hires must complete requirement within 3 months of hire.
