Job Description:   POSITION SUMMARY Participate in total nursing care for patients while maintaining standards for professional nursing practice.TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must have full mobility, bend and lift up to 35 pounds or to the best of ability in an emergency situation, and reach overhead. Must be able to stand 80% of the time, climb stairs, and have normal or corrected vision and hearing.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in documenting patient, developing a plan of care and implementing or assist in implementing the plan of care to meet patient needs.Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely as ordered by the physician or RN in charge and in accordance with approved nursing techniques within the scope of practice per the State Board of Nursing.Prepare patients for examinations and procedures and assist physician as needed.Observe patient, accurately assessing physical and psychosocial status. Report changes or concerns to physician and assure accurate completion of patient chart.Provide patient with health information and discharge instructions.Interpret and adhere to established policies in the department and company.Participate in in-service education programs and related seminars.Monitor drug representatives.May assume responsibility of shift charge nurse, establishing priorities for patient care, delegating as necessary and supervises appropriate staff. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTSRespond positively to work assignments, co-workers and patients.Able to constructively plan and utilize time showing initiative and willingness to help in all areas of the facility if necessary or when called upon to do so.Demonstrate compliance with company standards, policies and procedures.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCECurrent Nevada State License and registration as an LPN.Certified in Intravenous Therapy.Strong verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
